- The Comelec (San Juan) today held a briefing for pollwatchers and NAMFREL
volunteers regarding what is and what is not allowed during the May 14
election. San Juan Comelec Officer Ms. Pablito Piros and Santa Comelec
Officer Mrs. Amelia Balallo will be swapping offices during the election.
San Juan has a total of 13,295 registered voters. There are sixty-nine
(69) functional precincts. Counting of votes for precincts located in far-flung
barangays will be transferred to schools and public offices in the poblacion
and othe schools along the national highway. This means ballot boxes containing
uncounted ballots and other election paraphernalia will be transported
after the casting of votes to the designated areas. This was requested
by the Comelec to facilitate the collection of Certificates of Canvass
and speed up the cavassing of votes in the municipal level. The Saint John
the Baptist Parish has organized a team of volunteers to do the quickcount,
based on the sixth copy of the Certifcate of Canvass. |
